Job summary

The Thomson Reuters Foundation in Manila is seeking a Communications Officer to join the busy Communications team on a hybrid basis. Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, you will help deliver internal and external communications for a global NGO.

You will craft content, support campaigns around international days, and develop materials for Trust Conference and other initiatives, with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and audience needs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in integrated communications, ideally for an international organisation or development sector.
• Strong writing and editing of communications materials for diverse audiences.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to understand and assimilate complex information for audiences.
• Rigorous attention to detail with strong research and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated, independent, and able to take initiative.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Team oriented with willingness to learn and share expertise.
• Ability to work creatively, quickly and accurately under pressure.
• Fluent English is essential; additional languages are an advantage.
• Related bachelor's degree to communications or business.

Responsibilities

• Support the Communications team to plan and deliver content for internal channels to drive engagement across a global staff network.
• Write communications material for internal and external audiences, tailoring complex information for relevant readers.
• Contribute to production of content for events like the Trust Conference and other initiatives.
• Support senior team members with campaigns and evaluate effectiveness of comms activities.
• Stay across sector trends and propose new, creative approaches as needed.
• Collaborate with delivery and thought leadership teams to source content and support fundraising priorities.
• Build relationships with thought leadership and service teams to support programmatic comms.
• Provide general communications support, including managing enquiries and drafting responses for external campaigns.
• Assist in planning and delivering campaigns around relevant international days.
