The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records, and supporting timely financial reporting. The role also provides supervision and guidance to the accounting team while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
1. Accounting Operations
Supervise daily accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger maintenance.
Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing.
Review financial transactions and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
Monitor proper recording and classification of accounting transactions.
2. Financial Reporting
Prepare and review financial reports and accounting schedules.
Ensure reports are accurate, complete, and submitted within deadlines.
Provide accounting information and analysis to management when required.
3. Compliance & Internal Controls
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and applicable government regulations.
Assist in audits and provide necessary accounting records and supporting documents.
Monitor internal controls and recommend improvements when needed.
4. Team Supervision
Supervise, coach, and provide guidance to accounting staff.
Review work outputs and ensure proper delegation of accounting tasks.
Promote accuracy, accountability, teamwork, and discipline within the team.
5. Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures.
Ensure proper use and integrity of accounting systems and financial data.
Stay updated on relevant accounting practices and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, or a related field.
CPA license is an advantage.
At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and accounting software.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
