Job summary

EDC is seeking a Geophysics Specialist to plan and conduct geophysical surveys for greenfield geothermal prospects and monitor production fields.

You will acquire quality data, analyze it according to procedures, delineate probable resource areas, and recommend targeted drilling zones. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, pursue innovative data acquisition and modeling techniques, and ensure safety and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Applied Physics, or Physics.
• Experience in geophysical survey design, data acquisition, processing, and interpretation.
• Experience with geophysical software packages (gravity and magnetic modeling, resistivity surveys, seismic interpretation).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Passionate about traveling, hiking in remote locations, engaging with locals, and adapting in unfamiliar situations.
• Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and sustainable energy development.

Responsibilities

• Plans and conducts geophysical surveys and related studies to evaluate greenfield geothermal prospects and monitor production fields.
• Delineates probable resource areas and recommends best drilling targets based on conceptual models from data analysis.
• Recommends strategies to manage the production field based on survey results.
• Characterizes properties of the geothermal system and suggests reservoir management strategies.
• Pursues innovation to improve data acquisition, modeling techniques, and new technologies.
• Assists geophysical technicians with inventory, handling, storage and maintenance of equipment.
• Updates and maintains the geophysical database.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety and environmental stewardship.
