Job summary

Surbana Jurong seeks a Project Inspector (Geotechnical) to support dam and hydropower projects with on-site inspection, instrumentation monitoring and reporting. You will monitor earthworks, shaft excavation, dewatering, and diaphragm walls to ensure safety and conformance to designs and standards.

The role emphasizes field-based monitoring, basic geotechnical assessment, HSE implementation, and coordination with project teams to ensure timely, compliant construction in line with design intent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10 years of relevant experience in hydropower projects or large-scale underground infrastructure projects.
• 3–5 years direct geotechnical and civil experience in construction supervision or inspection.
• Experience inspecting rock support systems and monitoring geotechnical works.
• Experience with contractors, designers and supervision consultants on-site.
• Experience in dam and hydropower projects.
• On-site inspection or supervision of construction works.
• Exposure to high-risk construction environments.
• Ability to prepare inspection reports and documentation with clarity.

Responsibilities

• Implement site safety and HSE requirements for shaft and earthworks.
• Inspect shaft excavation, ground treatment, and diaphragm wall works.
• Coordinate with HSE officers and contractors on safety controls.
• Verify compliance with drawings, specs, and standards.
• Monitor workmanship and geotechnical performance on site.
• Identify non-conformances and propose corrective actions.
• Witness testing and inspections for geotechnical works.
• Prepare daily/weekly inspection reports and field records.
• Support project teams in safe work practices and risk mitigation.
• Participate in site coordination and progress meetings.
