Job summary

Planate Management Group in Quezon City, Philippines is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Global Technical Support Center. This on-call, part-time role supports design and assessment of soil and rock properties for foundations and earthworks.

The candidate must be a licensed Civil Engineer with at least 5 years of geotechnical experience and strong AutoCAD/MS Office skills, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required)
• Must be a licensed engineer (Professional Engineer license preferred)
• At least 5 years of geotechnical experience
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
• Proficient in English (written and spoken)

Job Description

The Geotechnical Engineer is a part-time, on-call position that will support our Global Technical Support Center (GTSC) in assessing soil and rock's physical, mechanical and chemical properties to design foundations, retaining structures and earthworks.

Key responsibilities:

• Study the soil, rocks, and other materials that make up the surface and subsurface of the Earth


• Determine the suitability of the ground for use in construction projects and other engineering projects by analyzing its physical and mechanical characteristics


• Site investigations by collecting soil and rock samples for analysis


• Responsible for environmental remediation and waste management


• Study the properties of soil and rock in order to minimize spread of contaminants


• Ensure the safety and stability of construction and infrastructure projects and protect the environment.


• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications To be successful in the role:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineer


• Must be a licensed engineer


• At least 5 years of geotechnical experience


• Proficient in AutoCAD and other Microsoft Office Applications


• Proficient in English both written and oral
