Job summary

AboitizPower Corp. seeks a Generation Forecasting and Planning Senior Supervisor to oversee precise generation forecasting across hydro, geothermal, solar, and wind.

You will lead advanced analytics, numerical modeling, and cross-functional coordination to align forecasts with asset strategies and business goals. In this role you will drive resource optimization, monitor plant performance KPIs, manage fuel/resource inputs, and collaborate with Data Analytics for predictive models and dashboards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Licensed Engineer (ME/EE/ChE) or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years in renewable energy or power plants.
  • Experience with resource forecasting technologies preferred.
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and governance of short- and long-term generation forecasts and models.
  • Present and coordinate approval of forecasts with Renewable Technology GMs.
  • Coordinate with hydrologists, OEMs, and resource partners to factor in forecasts.
  • Lead 5-year outage plan optimization with 1RE O&M for renewal availability.
  • Collaborate with Data Analytics to develop predictive analytics and performance models.
  • Support real-time dashboards and analytics tools.

As Generation Forecasting and Planning Senior Supervisor, you will serves as the central authority managing the precision forecasting of generation across all renewable energy technologies (Hydro, Geothermal, Solar, and Wind). The position drives strategic forecasting initiatives, resource optimization, and performance improvement programs through advanced operational analytics, numerical modeling, and cross-functional leadership. It ensures the accuracy, integrity, and alignment of generation forecasts with business objectives, operational realities, and long‑term asset strategies The role initiates intensive operational data analysis and numerical modeling on resource management (geothermal steam, irradiance, and rainwater resource), plant performance degradation, and plant activity‑related losses affecting the forecasted generation for each business year.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Leads the development, governance, validation, and strategic alignment of short‑and‑long‑term generation forecasts and models in relation to current assumptions and status of resources across all RE Techs, future power plant and steam field plans, activities, and initiatives.
  • Presents, justifies, and coordinates the final approval of generation forecasts and operational plans with the respective Renewable Technology General Managers.
  • Leads cross‑functional coordination with GEO Steam Suppliers, hydrologists, OEMs, and renewable resource partners, ROR Hydrologists, and Solar/Wind resource sources to factor in the resource forecast relative to all RE Techs.
  • Coordinates with 1RE O&M for the 5‑year Outage Plans, leading the optimization and rigorous sense‑checking of these plans to maximize generation availability and validate their feasibility of execution for the business year.
Power Plant Performance Improvement and Optimization
  • Directs the development of statistical trend analyses of 1RE resource data and plant operational parameters to identify variances critical to plant efficiency across all technologies.
  • Monitors and evaluates plant KPIs in support of creating operational strategies to achieve business objectives and targets.
Fuel and Resource Management
  • Monitors, optimizes, and conducts strict sense‑checking of fuel or resource input metrics (steam, irradiance, rainwater) against historical and expected baselines to ensure optimal energy conversion and plant efficiency.
  • Identify and implement strategies to minimize resource wastage, improve thermal efficiency, and ensure sustainable resource utilization.
Performance and Data Solutions Collaboration
  • Collaborates with the Data Analytics team to develop, refine, and validate performance models for various renewable technologies (e.g., solar irradiance vs. output, wind speed vs. turbine efficiency)..
  • Provides supervisory direction in the development and implementation of predictive analytics, AI/ML forecasting models, and performance optimization tools and performance forecasting models using different available softwares and technologies.
  • Supports the integration of real‑time dashboards and custom analytics tools that enhance visibility into plant performance and streamline decision‑making.
Process Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Guides and aligns cross‑functional teams and performance engineers in technical problem solving, initiative design, and process improvements across forecasting workflows.
  • Leads regular performance reviews and strategy sessions with key stakeholders (including General Managers) to align on issues, actions, and achievements regarding generation forecasts.
OTHER RELATED TASKS
  • Complies with company policies and procedures, safety rules and practices to ensure adherence to such.
  • Ensures conformance to the company’s Integrated Management Systems, policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensures that the integrity and quality of reports whether intended for internal or external consumption is maintained.
  • Protects information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference.
What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • Licensed Engineer (ME / EE / ChE)
  • 5 years of experience in renewable energy or any Power Plant.
  • Preferably with experience in resource forecasting technologies across multiple plant types.
  • 3 years of process leadership or managing complex cross‑functional initiatives (does not require formal direct reports).

Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Google Workspace and Applications / Computer programming.
