Job summary

AboitizPower is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Calauan, Laguna to support maintenance and reliability across electrical systems. You will work with the Electrical, RCM, and Production teams to drive uptime, safety, and cost efficiency while developing your technical skills in a collaborative setting.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and a valid Registered Electrical Engineer license, with 2+ years in relevant fields and hands‑on experience with CMMS and electrical

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years in geothermal, thermal, industrial or related field.
  • Registered Electrical Engineer license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance delivery: oversee overhaul, upgrades and maintenance tasks on electrical systems.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will [key role impact] and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Electrical team, RCM Team, and Production team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Maintenance Delivery: Supervise the overhauling, upgrade, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks on electrical systems and equipment.

  • Testing and Commissioning: Perform tests to ensure that the equipment is functioning correctly according to its operational standards and verify that the maintenance work meets the quality standards

  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.

  • Resource Management: Allocate resources including assignment of manpower, identification of materials, tools, and equipment, and withdrawal of inventory items from warehouse for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.

  • Maintenance Planning: Define the scope of each maintenance task, including detailed descriptions of the work to be done, the resources needed, and safety precautions based on equipment manuals and procedures, and historical maintenance data to optimize the maintenance intervals and procedures.

  • Maintenance Scheduling: Create a detailed maintenance schedule that aligns with the plant’s priority using computer systems which track their status, and update schedules in real‑time based on unexpected changes or emergency maintenance needs.

  • Documentation and Reports: Consolidate all documents and test results regarding the performed tasks and review the documentation to identify any trends or recurring problems that might suggest a need for further action or a change in maintenance strategy.

  • Maintenance Strategy: Conduct RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance Maintenance) tools like FMECA (Failure Mode, Effect, and Criticality Analysis), Asset Condition Assessment, Asset Criticality Analysis, and other Asset Management techniques to improve equipment reliability and performance, prioritize maintenance activities, and optimize operational costs.

  • SHE Compliance: Enforce SHE policies, procedures, and best practices within the electrical team, promoting a culture of safety awareness, hazard identification, and risk mitigation.

  • Risk Management: Conduct Task Risk Analysis (TRA) for maintenance tasks, identifying potential safety hazards, implementing risk mitigation measures, and promoting a safe work environment.

  • Budget Planning and Allocation: Collaborate with RCM specialists, to recommend annual maintenance budgets, project budgets, and cost estimates for maintenance activities, repairs, and upgrades.

  • Cost Control: Conduct cost‑benefit analyses, IRR assessments, and financial evaluations for maintenance projects, equipment investments, and maintenance improvement initiatives to assess their economic viability and value proposition.

  • Procurement Execution: Initiate procurement processes, and purchase requisitions for acquiring electronic resources, following procurement procedures, approval workflows, and budgetary constraints.

  • Procurement Coordination: Coordinate procurement activities, order fulfillment, and delivery logistics with vendors, suppliers, and logistics providers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of maintenance resources to support maintenance operations.

  • Procurement Monitoring: Monitor procurement transactions, procurement documentation, and procurement records, maintaining procurement data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with procurement policies and regulations.

  • Internal Communication: Coordinate and facilitate communication between maintenance teams, production personnel, and other departments to ensure alignment on maintenance priorities, schedules, and activities.

  • External Communication: Interface with external contractors, vendors, suppliers, and service providers to coordinate maintenance services, equipment procurement, and contractor activities as needed.

  • Change Management: Support change management initiatives, process improvements, and technological advancements within the electrical team, communicating changes, updates, and benefits to stakeholders effectively.

  • Training and Skill Enhancement: Conduct training, workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions to enhance technical competencies and job skills within the electrical team.

  • Assist in performance evaluations, competency assessments, and performance feedback sessions for maintenance staff, providing constructive feedback and recognition for achievements.

  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by his/her immediate superior.

To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:
  • Possesses a technical competency that includes knowledge and skills in executing maintenance tasks, an understanding of power plant operations, including steam field systems, knowledge in using tools, heavy equipment, and test instruments, skills in computer software, programs, and systems relevant to plant management, and the ability to analyze data effectively to optimize maintenance strategies and plant performance.

  • Exhibits functional competency in asset and maintenance management, project and resource management, and safety, health, and environmental safety management, ensuring optimal asset performance, efficient maintenance operations, successful project execution, effective use of resources, and strict adherence to safety and environmental protocols in the geothermal power plant context

  • Demonstrates leadership competency through strategic thinking and business acumen, adept planning and analytical skills, driving innovation, catalyzing and developing teams, effective communication, building partnerships and networks, motivating others, maintaining a customer and quality focus, making decisive actions, leading change, and showing resilience in challenging situations.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 2 years of experience in geothermal, thermal, industrial or significant relevant experience

  • Registered Electrical Engineer License required.

Technical / Functional Skills:
  • Proficiency in CMMS (Maximo or equivalent), reading and interpretation of Electrical power and Control Schematic Diagrams

  • Strong skills in Planning, Asset Management, Electrical systems maintenance and troubleshooting, Electrical protective relaying
