Job summary

ECLARO in the Philippines is seeking an Underwriting Assistant - Primary General Liability to support underwriting transactions, prepare files, provide rating support, and issue renewal policies under supervision.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or technical degree, has insurance exposure, and strong communication, analytical skills, and proficiency in Word, Excel, and ImageRight. The role emphasizes quality service and collaboration with underwriters and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Technical degree or equivalent preferred.
• At least two years of insurance industry experience preferred.
• 1 year of insurance product line experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance policy forms and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical: able to identify and define problems, extract key information from data and develop workable solutions.
• Drive to Deliver: takes accountability, organizes and prioritizes, delivers results.

Responsibilities

• Perform underwriting support activities including management of underwriting transactions, service standards, and documentation.
• Develop proficiency in basic underwriting analysis, file preparation and report assessment.
• Provide accurate rating support for new business submissions and renewals.
• Support production of quotes, generate binders, and process endorsements for Underwriters.
• Issuing renewal policies as instructed by the underwriting team.
• Demonstrate a customer service mindset by engaging with underwriters and internal/external contacts.
• Collaborate with internal/external contacts to meet client expectations.
• Interact with various business partners and internal departments.
• Meet departmental service standards for each process.
• Partner with operations and technology teams for system enhancements and process improvements.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned under minimal supervision.
