Job summary

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a GL Accountant to perform day-to-day shared service operations for the Taguig region. The role covers period-end close, reconciliations, accruals, amortization, fixed assets, intercompany entries, and regulatory reporting.

You will support audit activities, prepare monthly and quarterly reports, and participate in continuous process improvements within the Corporate Finance Services (CFS) division. A B.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. Accountancy graduate; CPA is a plus.
• Korean language proficiency is preferred (read, write, speak).
• Strong English communication skills required.

The Opportunity

This position works out of Taguig location within the Corporate Finance Services (CFS) division.

The GL Accountant will be accountable to perform/review day-to-day shared service operations for the region including but not limited to: (a) period-end close and the associate reconciliations, TB analysis, accruals, amortization, Fixed Asset, Intercompany and other related journal entries; (b) preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual compliance & regulatory reporting; (c) provide support for audit related matters; (d) monthly balance sheet reconciliations & issue resolution,

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing period-end-close activities.


• Assist the Local Finance Stakeholders with internal or external audit requirements during periodic review procedures.


• Responsible in preparation of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations


• Participates in process improvement initiatives with the team and/or across organization.


• Participates in the issue resolution

Experience/Background

• B.S. Accountancy graduate, CPA is a plus.


• Korean language proficiency is preferred. Read, Write, Speak


• At least 3 years of RTR experience in a complex multi country, shared services environment


• Experience in specialized accounting such as Treasury, inventory and product costing is an advantage.


• Clear and demonstrated understanding of US GAAP with ability to apply technical knowledge in a practical manner to day-to-day operations


• SAP S4/HANA or other enterprise systems experience advantage


• Strong English communication skills and the ability to interact with internal and external parties at all levels.


• Reasonable skill in Microsoft applications – excel, word and power point.


• Team-oriented, self-starter with the flexibility to work in a fast-phased environment with minimal supervision.
