Job summary

Envision Energy in Manila is seeking a detail-oriented General Ledger Accountant to oversee full-set accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting for power project investments and development activities.

The role requires 5–10 years in GL/accounting, SAP ECC/S4 Hana proficiency, strong Excel skills, and excellent English communication; CPA is a plus. You will work with cross-functional teams and support audits and statutory filings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in general ledger accounting or full set accounting.
• Experience in power, energy, renewable energy, infrastructure, EPC, project investment, or project development is preferred.
• Familiar with month-end closing, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit support.
• Good understanding of Philippine accounting, tax, and statutory requirements is preferred.
• Experience with SAP ECC/ S4 Hana
• Strong Excel skills and good analytical ability.
• Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and coordination skills, ability to manage stakeholders in a highly matrix functional environment
• Fluency in English is required; Mandarin Chinese is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle full-set general ledger accounting and ensure accuracy of records.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and close items.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• Prepare reconciliations including bank reconciliations and balance sheets.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation accounting.
• Ensure proper accounting for project-related costs, CAPEX, OPEX, and intercompany transactions.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
• Coordinate with project development and finance teams to record transactions.
• Support statutory audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and internal controls.
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, banks as needed.
• Participate in process improvements and ERP system optimization.
• Support ad hoc finance tasks by Senior Finance Manager or CFO.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our finance team in Manila. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall financial controllership in Philippines including general ledger accounting, month-end closing, financial reporting, reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with local accounting and tax requirements. Experience in the power, infrastructure, energy, or project development industry is highly preferred.

This role will support the accounting operations of power plant investment and development projects and work closely with cross-functional teams including project development, procurement, treasury, tax, and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to handle full-set general ledger accounting hands-on if required and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other month-end closing entries.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities in a timely manner.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and balance sheet schedules.
• Maintain fixed asset records and support depreciation accounting where applicable.
• Ensure proper accounting treatment for project-related costs, CAPEX, OPEX, and intercompany transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules, including consolidation.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate recording of business transactions related to project development and investment activities.
• Support statutory audit, tax filing, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, company policies, and internal control procedures.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other relevant parties when needed.
• Assist in improving accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and ERP/system implementation or optimization.
• Support ad hoc finance tasks assigned by the Senior Finance Manager or CFO.
