Job summary

The Lawson Group, LLC in Manila is seeking an experienced Accountant to support BIR reporting and monthly/quarterly tax submissions. You will handle journal entries, reconciling VAT and withholding taxes, and prepare monthly financial statements for the Japan submission, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will supervise the GA team, assist in annual audits, and maintain strict attention to detail in tax compliance, reconciling books, and financial reporting for the organization.

Qualifications

• Graduate of BS in Accountancy or any Accounting related course.
• At least 3 years of experience; retail experience is a plus.
• Experienced with General Ledger functions and FS preparation.
• Familiar with BIR and tax compliance, bank reconciliation preparation.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, good communications and written skills.
• Amenable to work consistently in UN Manila.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of BIR reports: Monthly/Quarterly Expanded Withholding Tax, Monthly/Quarterly VAT, Monthly/Quarterly Final Withholding Tax, Monthly Withholding VAT, and reconciliations.
• General Accounting: preparation and checking of journal entries and bookkeeping, accruals for monthly FS (Japan submission), and analysis of trial balance.
• Monthly FS Preparation: prepare template for monthly FS submission to Lawson Japan and variance analysis.
• Others: supervise GA team and assist in annual audit activity.
• Accountability: BIR returns and monthly financial statements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of BIR reports:

• Monthly/Quarterly Final Withholding Tax
• Monthly Withholding VAT
• Reconciliation of VAT reports for the month vs Books
• Reconciliation of VAT reports for the month vs EWT

General Accounting

• Preparation and checking of journal entries and bookkeeping
• Preparation of monthly accruals for monthly FS (Japan submission)
• Ascertain completeness of entries in the books, including accruals and expired prepaid expenses
• Analyze trial balance and determine adjustments needed for monthly FS preparation
• All other tasks that will be assigned from time to time

Monthly FS Preparation

• Prepare template for monthly FS submission to Lawson Japan
• Prepare variance analysis for monthly FS

Others

• Supervise GA team
• Assist in annual audit activity

Accountability

• BIR returns
• Monthly financial statements

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate of BS in Accountancy or any Accounting related course
• At least 3 years of experience (Experience in Retail Industry a plus)
• Experienced with General Ledger functions and FS preparation
• Familiar with BIR and tax compliance, bank reconciliation preparation
• Strong attention to detail & analytical skills. Good communications and written skills
