Job summary

Lawson Philippines, Inc. is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our Manila team.

The role focuses on BIR reporting, general accounting, and monthly financial statement preparation, with involvement in annual audits and cross-border reporting. The ideal candidate holds a BS in Accountancy, has 3+ years of relevant experience (retail experience adds value), and is proficient in general ledger tasks, VAT/BIR compliance, and bank reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of BS in Accountancy or any Accounting related course
• At least 3 years of experience (Experience in Retail Industry a plus)
• Experienced with General Ledger functions and FS preparation
• Familiar with BIR and tax compliance, bank reconciliation preparation
• Strong attention to detail & analytical skills. good communications and written skills
• Amenable to work onsite in UN Manila

Responsibilities

• BIR REPORTING: Assist in the preparation of BIR Reports: Monthly/Quarterly Expanded Withholding Tax, VAT, Final Withholding Tax, Monthly Withholding VAT, plus reconciliation of VAT reports for the month vs Books and vs EWT
• GENERAL ACCOUNTING: Preparation and checking of journal entries and bookkeeping; accruals for monthly FS (Japan submission); ensure completeness of entries and analyze trial balance for monthly FS preparation
• MONTHLY FS PREPARATION: Prepare Template for monthly FS submission to Lawson Japan; prepare variance analysis for monthly FS
• OTHERS: Assist in annual audit activity

Duties and Responsibilities

BIR REPORTING

Assist in the preparation of BIR Reports:

• Monthly/Quarterly Expanded Withholding Tax
• Monthly/Quarterly VAT
• Monthly/Quarterly Final Withholding Tax
• Monthly Withholding VAT
• Reconciliation of VAT reports for the month vs Books
• Reconciliation of VAT reports for the month vs EWT

GENERAL ACCOUNTING

• Preparation and checking of journal entries and bookkeeping
• Preparation of monthly accruals for monthly FS (Japan submission)
• Ascertain completeness of entries in the books, including accruals and expired prepaid expenses
• Analyze trial balance and determine adjustments needed for monthly FS preparation
• All other task that will be assigned from time to time

MONTHLY FS PREPARATION

• Prepare Template for monthly FS submission to Lawson Japan
• Prepare variance analysis for monthly FS

OTHERS

• Assist in annual audit activity
