Job summary

Philippine Span Asia Carrier Corp. (Manila) seeks a skilled technician to repair, overhaul, and maintain the vessel's main engine gearbox and related components to prevent delays in operations.

The role involves diagnosing malfunctions, performing repairs, and ensuring compliance with OEM standards, with responsibilities including engine testing and preventive maintenance scheduling.

Qualifications

• Experience with 2-stroke and 4-stroke vessel diesel engines and major overhauls.
• Experience in overhaul of generators.
• 3–5 years of gearbox servicing experience.
• Willing to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Performs gearbox repair as outlined on job defect order with OEM manuals and factory time allowances and standards; diagnoses malfunction and removes/disassembles transmission unit for repair.
• Conducts assessment on the main engine/auxiliary generator prior to PMS and reports findings to supervisor.
• Attends engine testing and records all engine parameters during anchorage or sea trial.
• Prepares Work Job Done Report after completion of the project/task as advised by the lead technical officer.
• Oversees Preventive Maintenance as per engine running hours and spare parts list.

Job description

Responsible for repairing, overhauling, and maintenance of the vessel's main engine gearbox and its parts to prevent breakdowns that may cause delays in vessel operations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs gearbox repair as outlined on job defect order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with oem manual and factory time allowances and standards. Diagnoses cause of malfunction. Removes and disassembles transmission unit and performs repair.

• Conduct assessment on the main engine /auxiliary generator prior to the PMS, to be reported to the immediate superior.

• Attend during engine testing and record all engine parameters, either anchorage or sea trial.

• Prepares Work Job Done Report after completion of project/task to be informed by attending lead technical officer and reviewing prior submission.

• Oversee the Perform Preventive Maintenance as per engine running hours/presented by superintendent work scope and spare parts list.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge in 2 stroke, 4 stroke vessel diesel engine and major overhauling.

• Knowledge in overhauling of generators.

• 3-5 Years Experienced in gearbox servicing and above.

• Willing to start immediately.
