EY Advisory Services Sdn Bhd seeks a QA Engineer to ensure software quality through test planning, design, execution, and defect management. You will collaborate with stakeholders and developers, applying hands-on Java-based automation and REST API testing within Agile teams.

Insurance domain knowledge (Guidewire P&C) is a plus but not required for Staff level. You should have a technical background with 2–5 years in automation and strong QA fundamentals.

• Graduate/Post Graduate with technical background.
• 2-5 years of automation consulting experience across multiple platforms and varied domains.
• At least 2 years of experience in test automation is a must.

The opportunity

As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality through comprehensive test planning, test design, execution, defect management, and reporting activities. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet business and customer expectations. The role demands working knowledge of test automation concepts and tools, with hands‑on experience in Java‑based automation frameworks. Experience in the Insurance domain is highly desirable but not required for Staff role.

Skills and attributes for success

• Experience in the Insurance domain is desirable, with Guidewire Property & Casualty (P&C) knowledge considered a significant advantage.
• Solid understanding of Software Testing Foundations and QA best practices.
• Ability to analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios and test cases.
• Basic understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), test case design techniques, and defect management processes.
• Ability to create and execute test cases based on business requirements, and accurately document test results and defects.
• Exposure to Functional Testing, Regression Testing, and SIT activities, with an understanding of Agile delivery practices.
• Experience executing manual test cases and validating application functionality against defined requirements.
• Experience managing the complete defect lifecycle, including defect identification, logging, tracking, retesting, and closure.
• Knowledge of test automation principles and hands‑on experience with automation tools such as Java Selenium. Playwright, TypeScript, and Python is a plus.
• Basic knowledge on REST API testing
• Have good knowledge on Locators, Xpath
• Basic SQL knowledge for data validation and testing activities.
• Experience with Git/GitHub version control.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Experience with Test Data Management and test environment setup.
• Exposure to BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
• Knowledge of automation frameworks such as Page Object Model (POM).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively within Agile and cross‑functional delivery teams.
