Job summary

Far East Industrial Supply & Co., Inc. is seeking a skilled Gas Cutter to perform gas cutting, oxy-acetylene cutting, and related hot work at project sites. You will cut and prepare steel plates, pipes, structural materials, and supports according to required dimensions.

You will set up, operate cutting equipment, inspect gear for leaks, follow approved drawings, coordinate with welders and fitters, maintain a clean work area, and uphold all safety policies, including PPE and cylinder handling.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Gas Cutter or Fabricator in industrial settings.
• Reading basic drawings and cutting instructions.
• Willing to undergo safety training and medical examination.

Responsibilities

• Perform gas cutting, oxy-acetylene cutting, and related hot work at the project site
• Cut and prepare steel plates, pipes, structural materials, supports, and other metal components according to required dimensions and specifications
• Set up, operate, and properly handle oxygen and fuel gas cutting equipment
• Check cutting equipment, hoses, regulators, torches, and connections before use and report any defects or leaks
• Follow approved drawings, work instructions, cutting dimensions, and site requirements
• Coordinate with welders, fitters, riggers, and other members of the installation team
• Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure that the work area is free from combustible materials and other hazards
• Follow all company and project-site safety rules, especially requirements for hot work, fire prevention, PPE, and gas cylinder handling
• Secure and properly position gas cylinders during work and ensure safe storage and handling after use
• Use appropriate PPE and comply with toolbox meetings, JSA/JHA, and other safety procedures

About the role

Perform gas cutting, oxy-acetylene cutting, and related hot work activities at the project site. Cut and prepare steel plates, pipes, structural materials, supports, and other metal components according to required dimensions and specifications. Assist in the fabrication, modification, and installation of supports and other steel works related to the nitrogen tank installation.

About you

• Proven experience as a Gas Cutter, Oxy-Acetylene Cutter, or Fabricator
• Experience in industrial, mechanical, piping, tank, or equipment installation projects
• Knowledgeable in the proper operation and maintenance of oxy-acetylene/gas cutting equipment
• Familiar with basic safety procedures for handling oxygen and fuel gas cylinders
• Able to read and understand basic measurements, dimensions, and cutting instructions
• Capable of performing manual work in an active project/construction site
• Safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work as part of a team
• Willing to undergo site orientation, safety training, and required medical examination
