Job summary

Kooapps Philippines Corporation in Makati is seeking a motivated game designer with scripting and technical skills to join our live operations team. You'll work with programmers, artists, and QA to craft engaging core loops and intuitive mechanics.

The role requires at least a high school diploma or higher, and a portfolio showcasing relevant game design work. Onsite work in Makati, Monday to Saturday availability, and willingness to learn are expected.

Qualifications

• At least a High School Diploma, Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate, Bachelor's/College Degree, Art/GameDesign, Computer Science/Information Technology, Humanities/Liberal Arts or equivalent.
• Scripting and technical knowledge is a must
• Willing to work onsite in Makati
• Willing to work Monday to Saturday
• Fresh graduates/Entry level applicants are accepted

Responsibilities

• Core Loop Design: Develop immensely satisfying core loops and intuitive mechanics that feature a virtually zero learning curve.
• Cross-Functional Execution: Partner directly with programmers to relentlessly tune game feel, physics, and controls to ensure maximum player satisfaction.
• Visual Communication: Work closely with artists and UI/UX designers to create simple, instantly readable visual feedback, ensuring the game's objective is understood in seconds.
• Lean Documentation: Create and maintain lightweight, highly visual technical documentation (GDDs) that keeps the production team aligned without slowing down development.
• Data-Driven Iteration: Analyze early prototype metrics (CPI, Day 1 Retention, playtime) and A/B test results to tweak mechanics or quickly pivot away from prototypes that don't hit the mark
• Constructive Playtesting: Participate actively and work with QA & Programmers in fast-paced internal playtesting sessions, providing and implementing actionable critique to iterate rapidly.
• Rapid Ideation & Pitching: Generate and pitch high-potential, trend-driven game concepts on a continuous basis.
