Job description

Position Objective

The FX Corporate/CCB Salesperson is a high-performing, commercial, and highly analytical role within the Global Markets division. We are seeking an ambitious, self-driven, and “hunter” minded professional to manage, optimize, and aggressively grow an assigned portfolio of Corporate and CCB (Commercial Bank) clients.

The ideal candidate must possess a unique dual profile:

Commercial Drive & High Client Intensity: Drive exponential revenue growth in both FX Spot and FX derivatives. This requires a relentless focus on client coverage through high-touch client intensity, including frequent in-person visits, Zoom meetings, active participation in events, and regular travel within the Mexican Republic to visit clients. The candidate will also be responsible for prospecting and onboarding new-to-bank FX clients. Digital FX Strategy & Automation: Champion Citi’s digital evolution by executing our Digital FX strategy. This involves migrating client flows to our proprietary electronic platforms, promoting automation (APIs and electronic portals), and delivering operational efficiencies for our clients. Bespoke FX Advisory: Dissect corporate balance sheets and cash flows to identify currency exposures and structure complex, high-margin episodic or strategic hedging transactions (e.g., M&A hedging, structured options, and FX solutions)

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Revenue & Spot Growth: Aggressively grow FX revenues and market share across the assigned portfolio, with a strong focus on maximizing both FX Spot execution and high-yield derivative products.
  • High-Touch Client Intensity: Maintain an active and disciplined calling program. Spend significant time in front of clients through in-person visits, events, and virtual meetings (Zoom) across different states in Mexico to deepen relationships and mindshare.
  • New Client Acquisition (Prospecting):Proactively prospect and win new corporate clients for the bank, expanding the FX franchise footprint.
  • Digital FX Execution: Drive the adoption of Citi’s digital FX platforms. Identify automation opportunities for clients’ treasury processes (e.g., API integrations, multi-dealer platforms, and Citi’s proprietary electronic platforms) to drive transaction efficiency.
  • AI-Driven Idea Generation & Market Insights: Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and data analytics to systematically monitor corporate balance sheets, public news, and banking metrics to generate high-quality, proactive FX hedging ideas and content for clients.
  • Strategic & Episodic Deals: Originate, structure, and execute landmark episodic FX transactions, such as short‑term structured options, FX solutions, project finance short‑term hedges, and M&A currency risk management.
  • Multidisciplinary Teamwork & Synergy: Partner seamlessly with key internal stakeholders, specifically Corporate & CCB Banking ,Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) coordination, and the Markets Solutions desk, to deliver a cohesive, institutional wallet approach.
  • End-to-End Client Service & Operations: Collaborate closely with middle office, back office, and operational areas of the bank to ensure flawless trade execution, query resolution, and top‑tier client service.
  • Governance, Risk & Controls: Maintain strict adherence to regulatory standards, internal control frameworks, and responsible finance practices. Actively partner with Legal, Compliance, and Risk departments to ensure transactions are structured safely.

Required Qualifications & Profile

  • Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in Finance, Banking, FX Sales, Corporate Treasury Advisory, or derivative structuring within a major financial institution.
  • Commercial & “Hunter” Mindset: Proven track record of aggressive portfolio growth, active client prospecting, and outstanding negotiation skills.
  • Digital & Tech Savvy: Strong familiarity with e-FX platforms, API connectivity, FX electronic solutions, and how digital tools optimize treasury operations.
  • Technical & Analytical Expertise: Solid understanding of financial mathematics, corporate finance, and FX products (Spot, Forwards, Options, Swaps).
  • Mobility: Willingness and availability to travel frequently within the Mexican Republic.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong teamwork dynamics and interpersonal skills. Ability to build bridges across internal business lines (Banking, TTS, Credit, Support Areas, Ops) and external C‑level executives.
