Job summary

The Citco Group Limited in the Philippines seeks a senior accounting professional to join its Private Equity team. You will maintain ledgers, prepare financial statements, allocations, and oversee client deliverables and audits.

The role requires a Master’s in Accounting/Finance, 8+ years in financial services accounting, leadership, and strong Excel skills; CPA is a plus. You will lead staff, coordinate across groups, and drive process improvements across our global fund administration platform.

Qualifications

• Master Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA).
• 8+ years’ experience in accounting for financial services (Private Equity, Asset Management, or Fund Administration).
• Skills in negotiation, budgeting, margin analysis, rating agency relations, and technical accounting.
• Experience managing staff for 3+ years.
• Strong knowledge of waterfall structures, modeling and calculations.
• Proven record of large-scale business/technology reengineering initiatives in PE/hedge funds/fund of funds.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and other accounting bases.
• Experience in reviewing and preparing ledgers and financial statements.
• Strong leadership and supervisory experience.
• Project management skills with attention to detail and multitasking.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and control the general ledger and various sub-ledgers.
• Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes and partner capital statements.
• Prepare and review limited partner and general partner allocations.
• Prepare and review trial balances and work paper products.
• Review capital activity for funds including capital calls and distributions.
• Prepare and review fee calculations (management/admin fees, waterfall clawback, carried interest).
• Manage and monitor the timing/quality of client deliverables; lead client relationships.
• Interact with senior management; provide technical accounting knowledge to clients.
• Lead preparation of client service plans including budgets; manage new client setups.
• Coordinate with Operations, Financial Statements, Tax and Investor Relations groups.
• Coordinate, manage and monitor external audit process.
• Review PE fund client’s partnership agreements, PPMs and materials.
• Implement fund structures on accounting systems.
• Coach and develop staff; build infrastructure.
• Prepare ad hoc reports as needed.
• Review trading/operations processes for the PE division.

As a core member of our Private Equity team, you will be working with some of the industry’s most accomplished professionals to deliver award-winning services for complex fund structures that our clients can depend upon.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

• Maintain and control the general ledger and various sub-ledgers.
• Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes and partner capital statements
• Prepare and review limited partner and general partner allocations
• Prepare and review trial balances and work paper product
• Review capital activity that pertains to the funds including capital calls, distributions, rebalances and transfers
• Prepare and review fee calculations including (but not limited to) management fees, admin fees, waterfall clawback, and carried interest calculations
• Manage and monitor the timing and quality of client deliverables; overall responsibility for client relationships and meetings
• Interact with senior management and manage overall relationships for multiple clients; provide technical accounting/industry knowledge to clients
• Lead the preparation of client service plans including annual budget; establish plan for new client setup and transitions
• Coordinate with Operations group, Financial Statement group, Tax group and Investor Relations group
• Coordinate, manage and monitor external audit process
• Review private equity fund client’s partnership agreements, PPM’s and other materials
• In charge of implementation of fund structures on accounting system
• Coach, develop, train staff and continue to build out our infrastructure
• Prepare ad hoc reports as needed
• Review trading and operations processes for the Company’s private equity division

Qualifications

About You:

• Master Degree in Accounting, Finance, any other professional accounting qualification (i.e. CA, CPA or ACCA or equivalent)
• Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in accounting for the financial services sector, particularly Private Equity, Asset Management or Fund Administration.
• Skilled in negotiation, business planning and budgeting, margin analysis, rating agency relations and technical accounting
• Managing skills with experience in managing and/or leading staff for 3+ years.
• Strong knowledge of waterfall structures, modeling and calculations
• Highly successful record of delivering large scale business/technology reengineering initiatives in the private equity, hedge funds and fund of funds businesses
• Some knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other comprehensive basis of accounting
• Experience in reviewing and preparing general ledgers and financial statements
• Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience of other professionals
• Project management skills with attention to detail and proven ability to multi-task
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• CPA designation a plus
