Job summary

Instituto de Productos Naturales y Agrobiología in Spain offers a fully funded 48-month PhD position. The student will focus on the control of bioorthogonal reactions by mechanical bond (rotaxanes) with synthesis of interlocked molecules and non-interlocked analogues.

The project includes testing kinetics, evaluating macrocycle effects, and applying to cellular contexts for potential controlled drug release or sensing.

Qualifications

• MSc in Chemistry or closely related discipline.
• Experience in supramolecular, bioorthogonal and/or biomedicinal chemistry.
• Good knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

• PhD project on control of bioorthogonal reactions by rotational bonds in rotaxanes.
• Synthesize interlocked molecules and non-interlocked analogues.
• Characterize synthesis and test kinetics of biorthogonal reactions.
• Evaluate macrocycle effects and apply to cellular contexts for drug release or sensing.
