Job summary

Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools of Special Education, St. Katherine School, is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our full-time team.

The OT will provide school-based therapy to students with disabilities, develop IEP goals, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators within a Catholic educational environment. The role emphasizes sensory integration, fine motor, self-care, and participation in classroom activities, with regular progress reporting and ongoing data-driven

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
• Licensed or certified as an Occupational Therapist.
• Experience with intellectual disabilities and autism.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate students to determine the need for occupational therapy and for evaluation reports.
• Develop and implement IEP goals and objectives to promote fine motor, perceptual motor, self-care, sensory integration, and play activities.
• Monitor and revise IEP goals and objectives and communicate with all team members to ensure effectiveness of services.
• Attend multidisciplinary team and IEP meetings and other meetings as assigned.
• Demonstrate appropriate behavior management strategies and techniques.
• Provide progress reports to teachers, parents and team members as needed.
• Adhere to deadlines for submission of IEP goals/objectives and related reports.
• Develop appropriate therapy programs including routines for classrooms and adaptations for students.
• OT delivers services within the school setting, including pull-out and push-in services.
• Provide consultation and training to staff to ensure student success.
• Make recommendations for adaptive equipment or modifications to facilitate learning and participation.
• Provide ongoing data collection to determine intervention success and progress in goals.
• Work with the student’s team and family to design and implement services.
• Knowledgeable in sensory processing and self-regulation for implementation
