Job summary

ASCONA INTERNATIONAL CORP is seeking a FSQA Officer to ensure imported foods and wholesale operations meet FDA Philippines regulations, international safety standards, and internal quality benchmarks. The role oversees documentation, warehouse sanitation, supplier compliance, and end-to-end quality control from port to client.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food technology, Food Science, Nutrition, Food Engineering, Chemistry or related field.
• 2–3 years of QA/QC experience in food importation, distribution, or wholesale in the Philippines.
• Certified in HACCP, GMP, or ServSafe is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cold chain integrity and storage temperatures for imported perishable, frozen, or dry goods.
• Conduct regular audits of the warehouse to ensure safe receiving, storage, and transport to consumers.
• Conduct regular traceability exercises and mock recalls.
• Attend to clients audits and resolve non-conformities within deadlines.
• Monitor pest control and sanitation programs within storage and distribution facilities.
• Evaluate food safety documentation from international suppliers, including HACCP, ISO, and Halal certifications.
• Inspect incoming shipments for damages, tampering, expiration dates, and shelf-life compliance.
• Investigate customer complaints, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
• Train warehouse and logistic personnel on food safety, hygiene, and allergen handling.
• Maintain updated FSQA manuals, SOPs, and traceability records for recalls.

About the role

The FSQA Officer at Ascona International Corp. ensures that all imported food products and wholesale operations comply with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Philippines regulations, international food safety standards, and company quality benchmarks. This role is responsible for overseeing relevant documentations, warehouse sanitary conditions, supplier compliance, and quality control from port-to-warehouse-to-client.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Warehouse Audits

• Monitor cold chain integrity and storage temperatures for imported perishable, frozen, or dry goods.
• Conduct regular audits of the warehouse to ensure strict adherence to involve the safe, efficient receiving, storage, and transport of food from receiving to consumer.
• Conduct regular traceability exercise and mock re-calls
• Attend to Clients Audits and solve non-conformities within given deadlines.
• Monitor pest control and sanitation programs within the storage and distribution facilities.

Supplier & Customer Management

• Evaluate food safety documentation from international suppliers, including HACCP, ISO, and Halal certifications.
• Inspect incoming shipments for damages, tampering, expiration dates, and shelf-life compliance upon arrival at the warehouse.
• Investigate customer complaints regarding product quality, coordinate root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.

Training & Documentation

• Train warehouse and Logistic personnel on food safety, personal hygiene, and proper allergen handling.
• Maintain updated FSQA manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and traceability records for swift recall management if necessary.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in food technology, Food Science, Nutrition, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or a related science field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in QA/QC roles, specifically within food importation, distribution, or wholesale sectors in the Philippines.
• Certifications: Certified in HACCP, GMP, or ServSafe is highly advantageous.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent technical writing skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with local government regulatory bodies.
