Our Purpose

TERADYNE, where experience meets innovation and driving excellence in every connection. We are fueled by creativity and diversity of thought in our workforce. Our employees are supported to innovate and learn something new every day. We cultivate a culture of inclusion for all employees that respects their individual strengths, views, and experiences. We believe that our differences enable us to be a better team – one that makes better decisions, drives innovation, and delivers better business results.

Opportunity Overview

The FP&A Finance Manager is a people-first finance leader within the Customer Support Organization (CSO), accountable for leading and developing the CSO Finance team while serving as a trusted finance partner to CSO managers and leaders.

This role ensures that the CSO Finance team delivers high-quality financial planning, analysis, and business partnering support that enables strong decision-making across service operations. The Finance Manager balances people leadership, financial rigor, and cross-functional partnership, translating CSO operational plans into financial insight, forecasts, and actions that support customer success and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
People Leadership – CSO Finance Team
  • Lead, manage, and develop the CSO Finance team, with full accountability for team performance, engagement, capability building, and delivery of FP&A and business-partnering support.
  • Own work planning, prioritization, and capacity management across the CSO Finance team to ensure timely, accurate, and decision-relevant outputs (forecasts, budgets, variance analysis, business reviews, ad‑hoc analysis).
  • Set clear expectations, goals, and success measures for team members aligned to CSO priorities, service business cadence, and Teradyne performance standards.
  • Provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance management, including goal setting, mid‑cycle check‑ins, year‑end evaluations, and development planning.
  • Actively build FP&A and business‑partnering capability across the team by reinforcing strong analytical fundamentals, structured problem‑solving, and effective financial storytelling for non‑finance leaders.
  • Identify skill gaps and development needs, assign stretch opportunities, and support succession planning and bench strength within CSO Finance.
  • Foster a high‑trust, inclusive, and collaborative team culture that promotes accountability, continuous improvement, and alignment with Teradyne Core Values and leadership principles.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for finance‑related issues impacting CSO and resolve concerns constructively and ensuring appropriate stakeholder alignment.
  • Partner with CSO and Finance leadership to continuously align CSO Finance team priorities with evolving business needs and strategic objectives.
CSO Business Partnering
  • Act as a trusted finance business partner to CSO managers and functional leaders, supporting operational and strategic decisions with data‑driven financial insight.
  • Translate CSO operating plans into financial forecasts, scenarios, and recommendations.
  • Support decisions related to service pricing, contract economics, cost‑to‑serve, staffing models, and productivity initiatives.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly business reviews, delivering clear financial narratives on performance, risks, opportunities, and actions.
Financial Planning, Forecasting & KPI Development
  • Lead preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and outlooks for CSO including service revenue, cost of service, gross margin, and operating expenses.
  • Build and maintain driver‑based models for key service economics (e.g., labor, parts, warranty, travel, utilization).
  • Deliver timely and accurate variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior year, with root‑cause explanations and recommended actions.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and dashboards to track financial and operational performance.
Headcount & Workforce Planning
  • Partner with CSO Finance, CSO leaders on headcount planning and workforce scenario analysis.
  • Evaluate staffing plans and productivity assumptions to ensure alignment between financial targets and operational capacity.
Process Improvement & Controls
  • Drive continuous improvement in CSO finance processes, tools, and reporting to improve efficiency, accuracy, and insight quality.
  • Standardize models, templates, documentation, and review practices across the CSO Finance team.
  • Ensure adherence to finance policies, internal controls, and reporting requirements.
