Job summary

Advance Food Concepts Mfg. Inc. is seeking an experienced Food Product Developer to lead research, development, and optimization of new and existing products. You will evaluate materials, packaging, and processes to enhance quality and cost-effectiveness.

You will plan lab-scale tests, production trials, shelf-life studies, and define product specifications, while collaborating with production, QA, suppliers, and other teams to ensure conformity and timely commercialization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in food product development, food manufacturing, or research and development.
• Knowledge of food processing, food safety systems, HACCP, GMP, and quality management principles.
• Experience in product formulation, shelf-life studies, sensory evaluation, and production trials.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and improve products, evaluating alternative materials, packaging, and processes.
• Plan lab-scale tests, production trials, and shelf-life studies; set product specifications and parameters.
• Provide cost-saving recommendations through ingredient and packaging optimization.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, purchasing, QA, suppliers, and other teams to ensure compatibility and quality.
• Analyze test results, address non-conformances, and recommend solutions.
• Support HACCP plan development and ensure accurate records and documentation.
• Conduct sensory evaluations, present new product concepts, and assist in prioritizing and tracking R&D activities.
• Manage and monitor R&D samples, materials, and equipment.
• Updates the commercialization checklist.
