Job summary

Columbia Shipmanagement is seeking self-motivated seafarers to join its cruise fleet. The role emphasizes safe navigation, watchkeeping, voyage planning, and compliance with MARPOL and SOLAS. Candidates should hold valid COC (STCW II/2) verification and ISM/SOLAS/MARPOL knowledge, with leadership and English proficiency.

Polar waters COP BASIC required; international voyage experience preferred. Contract terms include a 4 months +/- 1 month duration, with a competitive salary, free internet

Qualifications

• Valid COC (STCW Reg II/2) with verification.
• Valid STCW certifications.
• Excellent knowledge of ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and other maritime regulations.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and crisis management skills.
• Advanced English level; additional languages are an asset and recommended.
• Safety culture and mindset.
• Experience with multicultural working environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe navigation by standing watch, monitoring bridge/navigation equipment, and ensuring safe vessel operation in port and at sea.
• Prepare and manage voyage plans, including environmental compliance and adherence to MARPOL and local regulations.
• Keep navigational charts, publications, equipment logs, and merchant flags updated and compliant with the latest requirements.
• Manage port-related information and documentation, including port questionnaires, traffic, tidal/current data, and voyage technical itineraries.
• Support vessel safety, security, and regulatory compliance by performing emergency duties, monitoring communication systems (including GMDSS tests), and maintaining required documentation such as radio logs.
