Job Summary
As the Firmware Manager, you will lead the development of firmware architecture that powers communication modules, energy solutions, and industrial technologies supporting customers worldwide. You provide both technical leadership and program direction across new product development and lifecycle support, helping drive innovation, quality and business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of firmware development projects using structured project management practices, continuous improvement and collaborative delivery approaches.
- Define and guide technical direction, including architecture design, design reviews, qualification planning, and platform development.
- Develop assembly and test specifications for new products, materials, and processes while ensuring alignment with quality and reliability standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and industry standards by partnering with design and certification teams.
- Identify and collaborate with technology and supply partners to support product development and innovation.
- Provide regular updates and insights to leadership on project progress, risks and opportunities.
- Support and develop team members through feedback, coaching and resource planning aligned with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to investigate and resolve product quality concerns.
- Drive process improvements to enhance project execution, efficiency and outcomes.
- Contribute as a subject matter expert by researching, evaluating and applying advanced concepts, technologies and methods to address complex challenges and opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in a technical leadership role within firmware or embedded systems development.
- Strong knowledge of embedded firmware design, microcontrollers or digital signal controllers (e.g., ARM‑based platforms).
- Experience with system integration testing and validation practices.
- Familiarity with networking and industrial communication protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet or fieldbus technologies.
- Experience working in collaborative development environments using iterative or Agile approaches.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to manufacturing sites or customer locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in embedded systems architecture and firmware design.
- Experience leading global, cross‑functional technical teams.
- Knowledge of program or project management practices.
- Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems development.
- Experience with communication interfaces such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB or CAN.
- Exposure to real‑time operating systems or state machine‑based architectures.Familiarity with industrial IoT, cybersecurity principles or secure firmware design.
- Understanding of power electronics or firmware integration in power systems.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git.
- Awareness of web‑based technologies used in embedded or industrial environments.
- Interest or exposure to emerging technologies such as AI.
