Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Firmware Manager to lead architecture development for communication modules, energy solutions, and industrial technologies worldwide. You will provide technical leadership and program direction across new product development and lifecycle support.

You will guide firmware design, reviews, qualification planning, and platform development while ensuring quality, compliance, and timely execution. Travel may be required for manufacturing sites or customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in a technical leadership role within firmware or embedded systems development.
• Strong knowledge of embedded firmware design and microcontrollers (ARM-based or similar).
• Experience with system integration testing and validation practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead firmware development projects with structured project management and collaborative delivery.
• Define technical direction including architecture design and platform development.
• Develop assembly and test specs for new products, ensuring quality and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards with design/certification teams.
• Collaborate with partners to support product development and innovation.
• Provide updates to leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities.
• Mentor and coach team members to align with goals.
• Address product quality concerns with customers and internal teams.
• Drive process improvements for better execution and outcomes.
• Research and apply advanced concepts to address complex challenges.
