Job Summary
The Financial Head is responsible for leading the company's overall financial strategy, planning, reporting, and compliance. This role ensures the financial health of the organization by overseeing budgeting, financial analysis, cash flow management, taxation, internal controls, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in the restaurant or food service industry and possesses strong business acumen to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure operational stability.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with actionable business insights.
- Analyze financial performance and recommend strategies to improve profitability.
Accounting & Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Oversee general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, government reporting requirements, and statutory obligations.
- Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory agencies.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies.
Business & Operational Support
- Partner with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and HR to improve financial performance.
- Analyze restaurant-level profitability, food costs, labor costs, and operating expenses.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as:
- Food Cost
- Labor Cost
- Gross Profit
- EBITDA
- Inventory Variance
- Cash Conversion Cycle
- Recommend cost‑saving initiatives and revenue optimization strategies.
Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance and Accounting team.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes.
- Implement financial technologies and automation where applicable.
- Support expansion initiatives, new store openings, and investment evaluations.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly preferred.
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is highly preferred.
- MBA or Master's Degree in Finance or Business Administration is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing finance operations.
- Experience in the restaurant, food service, hospitality, or retail industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience handling multi-branch operations is highly desirable.
