  • Experience maintaining audit-ready project financial records and compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with management to build and align project budgets with long-term objectives and profitability targets.
  • Evaluate project cost structures and timelines to recommend adjustments and optimization opportunities.
  • Track budget execution, analyze variances, and implement corrective measures to protect margins.
  • Coordinate with project managers to align operational spending with the financial strategy and quarterly budgets.
  • Oversee AR to ensure timely invoicing and collections to maximize cash flow.
  • Manage AP to optimize cash outflows and maintain supplier relations.
  • Monitor net project cash flow and working capital needs, flag risks to management.
  • Conduct financial modeling, cost-benefit analyses, and variance analyses to support executive decisions.
  • Prepare project financial dashboards and profitability reports for review.
  • Guide junior staff on AR/AP processing and routine reporting.

About the role

This role involves strategic financial management of projects, including budget planning, financial forecasting, and oversight of accounts receivable and accounts payable operations. The position requires collaboration with management and project teams to align spending with financial strategy, optimize cash flow, and ensure profitability targets are met.

Key responsibilities
  • Collaborate with management to build, refine, and align strategic project budgets and financial forecasts with long-term business objectives and profitability targets
  • Evaluate project cost structures and timelines to recommend strategic adjustments, optimization opportunities, and buffer management for high-priority projects
  • Continuously track budget execution against strategic targets, analyzing cost variances and implementing corrective measures to ensure project margin targets are met
  • Coordinate with project managers and site heads to align operational spending with broader financial strategy and quarterly budget allocations
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring timely billing, milestone invoicing, and proactive follow-ups on collections to maximize cash flow
  • Manage Accounts Payable (AP), reviewing vendor payables, subcontractor disbursements, and payment schedules to optimize cash outflows and maintain supplier relations
  • Monitor net project cash flow and working capital demands, highlighting risks and advising management on optimal payment sequencing
  • Conduct strategic cost-benefit analyses, financial modeling, and variance analyses to support executive decision-making
  • Prepare comprehensive project financial dashboards, profitability reports, and performance summaries for management review
  • Guide and assist junior finance or accounting personnel on daily AR/AP processing, cost allocation, and routine reporting
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field is recommended (equivalent hands-on experience in project finance/accounting will be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • Proven experience in project financial planning, budget management, and AR/AP operations
  • Ability to conduct strategic cost-benefit analyses, financial modeling, and variance analyses
  • Experience maintaining audit-ready project financial records, supporting schedules, and compliance documentation
