• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in financial management, reporting, and accounting operations support.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accountancy, or a related 4-year business discipline.
• CPA preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports and provide detailed analysis of financial performance.
• Perform variance analysis against prior-year results and approved budgets.
• Support annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for assigned entities.
• Review Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable aging, and other schedules monthly.
• Prepare and endorse accounting adjustments to ensure accuracy of book balances.
• Coordinate with Finance and Accounting teams across the organization.
• Support audit and tax-related requests with complete financial documentation.

About the Role

We are looking for a Finance Specialist to support the day-to-day finance and accounting activities of 1882 Energy Ventures and its assigned entities. The role provides financial analysis, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and tax compliance support. The Finance Specialist will work closely with internal stakeholders, external customers, suppliers, auditors, and government agencies to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Analysis & Management Reporting

• Prepare monthly management reports and provide detailed analysis of financial performance.
• Perform variance analysis of financial statements against prior-year results and approved budgets.
• Identify significant variances, financial issues, and trends, and provide actionable analysis to support management discussion and resolution.
• Support the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for assigned entities.
• Review Accounts Receivable aging, Accounts Payable aging, and other revenue, cost, and expense schedules on a monthly basis.
• Prepare cash management reports covering cash inflows (including collections) and cash outflows (including disbursements).
• Review proof lists and validate the proper charging of accounts.
• Prepare and endorse necessary accounting adjustments to ensure the accuracy of book balances.

2. Financial Operations & Accounting Support

• Support the day-to-day finance and accounting activities of assigned entities.
• Coordinate with Finance and Accounting points of contact across the organization.
• Review financial transactions and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure appropriate account charging and coordinate required adjustments with the accounting team.
• Provide financial information and analysis to support studio finance, venture teams, and other key stakeholders.
• Support the studio's overall finance and accounting requirements across its portfolio of ventures.

3. External & Stakeholder Coordination

• Respond to and coordinate inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate with relevant internal teams to resolve finance, accounting, tax, and reporting matters.
• Support audit and tax-related requests by providing accurate and complete financial documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in financial management, reporting, and accounting operations support.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accountancy, or a related 4-year business discipline.
• Licensure: CPA preferred, but not required.
