Job summary

IDP Education Limited in the Philippines is seeking a Finance Officer to handle essential operational accounting tasks for the local business, reporting to the Finance Manager. The role collaborates with operational teams and global shared services to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounts payable - ensuring documentation approvals, vendor payment, reconciling supplier statements
• Manage expense reimbursement process – ensure compliance to company policy
• Retain vendor contracts and check that vendor payments are aligned to contracts
• Perform routine checks and reviews of financial transactions, supporting documents, and approvals to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
• Conduct internal finance reviews and audits, including checking selected transactions, reconciliations, supporting documents, and process compliance, and escalate discrepancies or control issues to the Finance Manager
• Identify and report potential control weaknesses, process gaps, unusual transactions, or discrepancies and assist in implementing agreed corrective actions
• Assist with petty cash control and reconciliation – check and retain supporting documents and approvals
• Prepare manual invoices to bill clients, working with global IDP colleagues
• Assist with Banking of cash collected, monitor/control receipt issue with admin and IELTS teams
• Prepare monthly tax including WHT, VAT submissions and liaise with revenue department contacts for routine matters
• Interest in developing financial analysis skills, reviewing revenue and expense trends
• Assist in the group accounts and local Philippines accounts close off at month end / year end – calculating accurate accruals, and general ledger entries
• Assist Finance Manager ensure accuracy and completeness of group accounts compared to local Philippines accounts by performing reconciliations and other analysis
• Provide requested documentation and support during internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules, retrieving supporting documents, responding to routine audit queries, and following up on agreed audit actions.
• Undertaking any other duties as directed by the Finance Manager
