Job summary

SMBC Group seeks a Finance Officer (Accounting) to support financial reporting, tax submissions, and compliance. You will prepare bank reconciliations, review GL and trial balances, and ensure alignment with GAAP, PFRS, and local tax rules.

Collaboration with the Accounting and Tax Unit is essential for timely Head Office reporting. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and 2+ years in accounting or taxation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and strong GAAP/PFRS knowledge.
• At least two years of accounting, taxation or financial reporting experience.
• CPA designation is an advantage; familiarity with JGAAP and banking taxation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile bank accounts and monitor reconciling items.
• Generate and analyze Trial Balance, General Ledger, and other reports.
• Investigate discrepancies between source systems and records.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and bank policies.
• Assist with tax computations, returns, and supporting schedules.
• Support monthly financial statements and variance analysis.
