Private Advertiser is seeking a Tax Accounting Officer to bolster the bank's tax compliance and accounting processes. The role involves assisting in tax reporting, reconciling tax accounts, preparing tax filings, and ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulatory requirements.

Tax Accounting Officer to support the bank's tax compliance and accounting processes. This role involves assisting in tax reporting, reconciling tax accounts, preparing tax filings, and ensuring adherence to applicable tax laws and regulatory requirements.
Assist in the preparation and filing of periodic tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax, and other statutory taxes.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions and reconciliations in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP).
Support the calculation and documentation of deferred tax assets and liabilities.
Maintain accurate tax records and supporting documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
Ensure timely payment of tax liabilities and filing of returns to avoid penalties and interest.
Monitor changes in tax regulations and report potential impacts to the Tax Manager.
Assist with internal and external audits, providing requested tax documentation and analysis.
Reconcile general ledger tax accounts and investigate variances.
Participate in system upgrades, tax automation projects, or process improvements within the tax function.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (professional certifications like CPA, CA, or equivalent are an advantage).
2-4 years of experience in tax accounting or a similar finance role, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
Solid understanding of tax accounting principles, including deferred tax and current tax provisions.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with local tax laws and regulations (e.g., income tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and compliance frameworks.
