About the role
This role protects the Group's external record. Every audited financial statement, tax return, and regulatory submission must be accurate, on time, and fully supported. Nothing goes out late, and nothing goes out that cannot be defended. You will own the general ledger, the statutory financial statements, and all tax and regulatory reporting across the Group. Everything the Group files externally comes through this desk. You will report to the Controller / Deputy CFO, lead a team of about five qualified accountants, and work across 8 to 10 legal entities covering BIR, SEC, Insurance Commission, and sector agencies.
Key responsibilities
- Own the general ledger across all entities. Keep it clean, current, and reconciled. Run the monthly, quarterly, and annual close on a hard, published timetable.
- Own account reconciliations and balance sheet integrity. No unexplained or ageing reconciling items.
- Maintain the chart of accounts and enforce consistent application across entities.
- Manage intercompany accounting and ensure balances agree before they reach consolidation.
- Apply PFRS correctly across service, contract, subscription, and claims based revenue models. Escalate judgment calls early.
- Prepare the Group consolidation, including eliminations, minority interests, and investment accounting. Deliver a complete, supported consolidation pack for review and sign off by the Controller / Deputy CFO.
- Prepare the statutory financial statements and notes for every entity, on PFRS or PFRS for SMEs as applicable. Act as the primary counterpart to the external auditors. Run the audit timetable and the PBC list.
- Own the compliance calendar for every entity. Review and approve all returns and attachments before filing. Maintain the documentation trail so that any filing can be reconstructed and defended years later.
- Run one controlled calendar covering SEC, Insurance Commission, sector agencies, and local government. Prepare Insurance Commission submissions in the prescribed formats and reconcile them to the statutory financial statements.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of about five qualified accountants. Set clear standards for accuracy, deadlines, documentation, and escalation. Build bench strength so that no single filing or entity depends on one person.

- External audit management. Acted as the primary counterpart to the auditors, ran the timetable, and closed findings.
- Regulatory reporting discipline. Ran a filing calendar across multiple agencies without missing deadlines.
- ERP fluency. Confident in a real GL environment. Understands how good system use supports controls and reporting.
- Documentation discipline. Builds a trail that a third party can follow years later without the preparer present.
