We are looking for a Financial Controller to lead financial governance, accounting integrity, reporting, and process transformation for the Philippines operations.
This is a hands‑on and transformative leadership role responsible for maintaining the integrity of the local general ledger, strengthening financial controls, improving the month‑end close process, and maximizing the capabilities of ERP and accounting systems.
The ideal candidate is a rigorous accounting leader with a strong control mindset, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to improve and scale finance operations within a fast‑growing BPO, offshoring, or professional services environment.
Establish and maintain strong financial controls, accounting structures, and financial discipline across the Philippines finance and accounting team.
Ensure transactions, journal entries, and accounting treatments comply with applicable local and international accounting standards.
Own the end‑to‑end month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion in line with group reporting deadlines.
Standardize balance sheet reconciliations, clearing accounts, and intercompany matching processes.
Identify and resolve historical accounting discrepancies and outstanding reconciliation items.
Lead finance‑related initiatives for accounting system and ERP upgrades and enhancements.
Optimize ERP configurations to improve automation, reduce manual processes, and minimize reliance on Excel-based workarounds.
Review and redesign existing financial processes to eliminate bottlenecks and improve operational efficiency.
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive finance activities and improve the scalability of the accounting function.
Develop and deliver comprehensive monthly financial reporting packages covering revenue performance, expense drivers, and balance sheet movements.
Work closely with the Group Financial Controller to ensure accurate and seamless integration of local financial data into global consolidation, transfer pricing, and group tax structures.
Conduct detailed variance analysis and provide clear, data‑driven explanations of financial performance.
Present financial insights and recommendations to the CFO and local leadership team.
Partner with the VP of Finance & Accounting to ensure effective integration between high‑volume transactional functions such as AR, AP, and Payroll and the general ledger.
Design, implement, and continuously improve internal control frameworks to mitigate financial risks.
Strengthen transparency, compliance, and audit readiness across the Philippines finance function.
Support the business in reducing audit adjustments and addressing control‑related findings.
Success in this role will be measured through:
Month‑End Close: Reduction and consistent achievement of the targeted month‑end close timeline.
System Automation: Successful implementation of ERP capabilities that reduce manual Excel‑based processes.
Reporting Accuracy & Timeliness: Delivery of accurate monthly reporting packages within agreed group deadlines.
Audit Readiness: Reduction in year‑end audit adjustments and improvement in local financial controls.
8+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial control, or related finance functions.
At least 3+ years in a senior leadership position such as Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or Audit Senior Manager.
Experience in BPO, call center, offshoring, professional staffing, or similar high‑volume service environments is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of high‑volume client billing, multi‑currency revenue, and large‑scale payroll processing.
CPA qualification is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of IFRS/PFRS.
Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to an ERP implementation or major accounting system optimization, preferably with systems such as NetSuite or advanced Xero.
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
