Zark's Food Ventures Corp. is seeking a Finance Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management across the restaurant group.
You will ensure PAS/PFRS compliance and maintain strong internal controls while guiding strategic financial decisions. The role requires extensive experience in accounting and finance, with leadership exposure and proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel.
Job Summary
The Finance Controller is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, budgeting, and cash flow management. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information, maintains compliance with Philippine accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and provides strategic financial guidance to support business growth and operational efficiency across the restaurant group.
1. Financial Reporting & Accounting
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded in accordance with Philippine Accounting Standards (PAS), Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), and company policies.
Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure timely submission of financial reports.
Review general ledger accounts, journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Present financial reports and performance analysis to senior management.
2. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process in coordination with department heads.
Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
Analyze variances and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
Support business planning by preparing financial models and projections.
3. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
Oversee cash flow planning and liquidity management.
Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and working capital.
Review bank reconciliations and authorize cash disbursements in accordance with company policies.
Develop strategies to optimize cash utilization and maintain financial stability.
4. Internal Controls, Compliance & Risk Management
Design, implement, and monitor effective internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
Ensure compliance with BIR, SEC, LGU, and other Philippine regulatory requirements.
Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
Develop and enforce finance policies, procedures, and financial governance standards.
Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
5. Cost Control & Profitability Analysis
Analyze restaurant operating costs, including food cost, labor cost, overhead expenses, and other operating expenditures.
Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational efficiency.
Monitor key financial and operational KPIs across restaurant branches.
Support pricing strategies, margin improvement initiatives, and profitability analysis.
6. Team Leadership & Finance Operations
Lead, supervise, and develop the accounting and finance team.
Ensure efficient daily finance operations and proper workload distribution.
Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and staff development initiatives.
Promote continuous process improvement and operational excellence within the finance department.
7. Strategic Financial Management
Provide financial insights and recommendations to executive management to support strategic decision-making.
Evaluate capital expenditures, expansion projects, investments, and new business opportunities.
Support business growth initiatives through financial analysis and feasibility studies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve business performance and financial outcomes.
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly preferred; CMA or other professional finance certifications are an advantage.
Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3–5 years in a Finance Controller, Finance Manager, or similar leadership role.
Experience in the restaurant, food service, retail, or hospitality industry is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of Philippine Accounting Standards (PAS/PFRS), taxation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance (BIR, SEC, and other government agencies).
Proficient in ERP or accounting systems such as Netsuite, Xscribe, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Query, financial modeling, and advanced formulas.
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, internal controls, audit management, and cash flow management.
Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial information to senior management and non-finance stakeholders.
