Job summary

Manulife is seeking an experienced accounting professional in the Philippines to conduct moderately complex financial analyses and lead journal entry preparation, month-end close, and reporting activities. You will coordinate with HR on payroll-related costs and ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, system optimization in ERP environments, and robust financial reporting support for statutory and management purposes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA (or equivalent professional certification) preferred.
• 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in accounting processes, including Record-to-Report (R2R), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), and Order-to-Cash (O2C).

Responsibilities

• Accounting and Reporting: apply professional accounting standards and maintain documentation; ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Record-to-Report Execution: perform journal entries, accruals, and sub-ledger reconciliations; review reconciliation and provide sign-off.
• Period Close: own month-end close; approve and release journal entries; ensure timely financial submissions.
• Benefits and Compensation Process: oversee compensation-related expenses, payroll inputs, and benefits costs.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: support statutory and management reporting for accuracy and compliance.
• Reporting and Analytical Support: develop analyses to support decision-making and ad-hoc requests.
• Monitor sales incentive accruals and processing; manage DIP accruals.
• Cost Management & Planning: support budgeting, forecasting, and cost analyses.
• Process, Controls & Systems: ensure SOX compliance; optimize ERP usage (Fieldglass and Ivalua).
