Job summary

Manulife is seeking a Finance Manager to lead a team responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting at the business-unit level. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, cross-functional collaboration, and a focus on process improvement and audit readiness.

The position involves period-end closing, cost management, and collaboration with HR/Payroll on compensation accounting, with an emphasis on governance and continuous improvement across the finance function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification required.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in financial control, accounting operations, and reporting.
• 2-3 years of people leadership experience.
• Exposure to the insurance industry is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead R2R execution, coach team and ensure quality outputs.
• Direct month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Oversee compensation and benefits accounting and reporting.
• Ensure timely, accurate statutory and management financial statements.
• Provide actionable insights and drive process improvements across areas.
