Job summary

Telstra Corporation in Makati City, Philippines, is seeking a Finance Consultant (CPA/CMA/CA Qualified) to drive financial outcomes, enable profitability tracking and support strategic initiatives in a HYBRID work setting.

The role requires technical accounting expertise, strong collaboration with stakeholders, and experience in forecasting, budgeting and management accounting to partner with the business and deliver robust financial performance.

Qualifications

  • CPA, CMA, or CA fully qualified.
  • Experience in Finance Management (forecasting, budgeting, analysis, reporting, variance).
  • Experience in management accounting to support business partnership and compliance.
  • Background in SAP and Big 4 experience is desirable.
  • IFRS15 knowledge is a plus.

  • Stakeholder management across teams to align financial matters.
  • Month-end processes, reconciliations, accruals, reporting.
  • Develop accurate financial forecasts for decision making.

Strategy & Finance (S&F) Financial Management Chapter The teams across the S&F Financial Management Chapter provide a wide range of financial management services that guide and empower our business. We have several key relationships supporting Telstra business operations to corporate leadership, our customers, our people and shareholders. We’ve recently gone Agile in Strategy & Finance so that we can better prioritise our work, flow the right resources to that work, develop our people and ultimately support our business stakeholders to deliver better outcomes for our customers and our shareholders. This role sits within our Financial Management Chapter Area, a ~450 strong global team of financial professionals who provide business partnering and FP&A services to missions across the organisation.

About The Role

As a Finance Consultant (CPA/CMA/CA Qualified), you will play a crucial role in driving financial outcomes, maintaining commercial discipline, and implementing operational improvements across customer segments. You will deliver financial management expertise and analysis to support the Telstra’s financial strategic direction and enable the monitoring, tracking, and reporting on financial performance (including profitability, expense and cash) of Telstra and its functional units. Important note: the role will be based in our office in Makati City, Metro Manila and will be in a HYBRID working environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment on financial matters.
  • Month-End Tasks: Execute month-end financial processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
  • Forecasting: Develop accurate financial forecasts to guide decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze historical and current financial data to assess the segment’s financial health and identify trends.
  • Supporting Business Initiatives: Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic business initiatives.
  • Finance Operational Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and efficiency.
  • Reporting: Prepare clear and concise financial reports for management and other relevant stakeholders.
About You
  • CPA, CMA, or CA fully qualified
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Accounting or related course
  • Proven experience in Finance Management (i.e., forecasting, budgeting, analysis, reporting, and variance)
  • Experience in management accounting: to support business partnership, technical accounting, and accounting compliance
  • Finance business partnering background
  • Desire to build leadership skills with a genuine commitment to building capabilities
  • Initiative: A proactive mindset to address issues related to operational performance and financial trajectory.
  • Autonomy and Collaboration: the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in financial modelling and data‑backed decision‑making.
  • Stakeholder management and presentation skills
  • Passion for numbers and improving financial performance
  • Highly desirable qualification(s)
  • Background in SAP
  • Big 4 experience
  • Experience in revenue management
  • IFRS15 knowledge
