Magkono Financing Company Incorporated (MFCI) is seeking a graduate-entry Finance Associate to join our Cebu office. The role is focused on originating and converting lending opportunities while providing exposure to underwriting, facility structuring, security review and portfolio management.

This is a lean, entrepreneurial environment in which responsibilities expand according to performance and ability rather than tenure.

Qualifications

• Graduate-entry level or 1–2 years of finance experience.
• Comfortable with detailed financial and regulatory material.
• Able to approach prospective borrowers and build relationships from a cold start.
• Proactivity, judgement and personal ownership are essential.
• Ability to travel and attend events, conferences and trade shows.

Responsibilities

• Originate lending opportunities through property exhibitions, developer roadshows, community events and direct borrower engagement.
• Build and manage a qualified pipeline from initial contact through credit approval, documentation and drawdown.
• Assess borrower affordability, including overseas income, expenditure and existing financial obligations.
• Support credit assessment and loan structuring, including security review, repayment profiles and facility terms.
• Conduct property, developer and market research to support origination and underwriting decisions.
• Monitor principal and interest payments and maintain accurate portfolio records.
• Support arrears aging, borrower follow-up, collection strategy and the restructuring of underperforming facilities.
• Assist with relevant BIR, tax, SEC and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Prepare pipeline, credit and portfolio reporting for the founders and senior management.
• Take ownership of commercial, operational and analytical projects as the business requires.

About the role

MFCI is seeking a graduate-entry Finance Associate to join its Cebu office. The role is primarily focused on originating and converting new lending opportunities, while providing exposure to underwriting, facility structuring, security review and portfolio management. This is a lean, entrepreneurial environment in which responsibilities expand according to performance and ability rather than tenure. You will work directly with the founders and take on meaningful responsibility from an early stage. Performance based bonus and incentives in addition to base salary.
