Job summary

SMC Integrated Merchandising Services Inc. (SMCIMSI), a San Miguel Group affiliate, is seeking a Finance Assistant to support general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and month-end close.

The role requires accurate recording of transactions, account reconciliations, and preparation of consolidation inputs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply strong analytical skills, and ensure timely, compliant financial records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy/Finance.
• At least 1 year of experience in finance/accounting-related role.
• Experience in general accounting, financial reporting, or audit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
• Review GL balances and ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper account classification.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and other adjusting entries.
• Prepare input templates for Group Consolidation.
• Collaborate with other teams to obtain required data and provide required input.

SMC Integrated Merchandising Services Inc. (SMCIMSI) is the dedicated merchandising arm of San Miguel Corporation (SMC). A wholly owned subsidiary established in March 2019, SMCIMSI provides expert merchandising services across the San Miguel Group. Beyond ensuring product availability anytime, anywhere, our merchandisers serve as brand ambassadors, representing the products they carry with excellence.

With a workforce of over 8,000 merchandisers deployed across major supermarket chains, modern trade, and general trade accounts nationwide, SMCIMSI plays a crucial role in supporting SMC’s diverse business units.

Since 2019, we have managed the merchandising requirements of San Miguel Foods (Protein & Animal Nutrition Business and Prepared & Packaged Foods). In September 2022, we expanded our operations to handle Ginebra San Miguel Inc.'s merchandising in the Visayas region. Plans are underway to extend our coverage to San Miguel Brewery, SMYPC Wine Brothers, and additional areas for Ginebra San Miguel Inc.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our team. The role is responsible for general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities. Ensure accurate financial records, prepare accounting entries and consolidation reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accounting operations.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy/Finance

Experience:

• At least one (1) year of experience in a finance and accounting-related role.
• Experience in general accounting, financial reporting, or audit is preferred

Skills:

• Background in General Accounting.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications with strong multitasking abilities.
• Knowledgeable in SAP
• Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
