Job Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with government regulations, and the proper maintenance of accounting records. This role manages accounting staff, supervises financial transactions, prepares financial statements, and ensures that all financial activities of the company are conducted in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting strategic financial planning, and ensuring that internal controls and financial procedures are properly implemented.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records in accordance with accounting standards.
- Monitor company financial performance and provide recommendations to management.
- Oversee the preparation of financial reports for management decision-making.
Accounting Operations
- Supervise the daily activities of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and general ledger maintenance.
- Ensure timely recording of financial transactions and proper documentation of all accounting entries.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by accounting staff.
- Maintain the integrity of accounting systems and procedures.
Compliance and Government Reporting
- Ensure compliance with government regulatory requirements including BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG contributions.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of tax filings and statutory reports.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with financial and tax regulations.
Internal Controls and Audit
- Develop and maintain internal financial controls to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and provide required documentation.
- Conduct internal reviews to ensure compliance with company financial policies.
Budgeting and Financial Planning
- Assist management in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget utilization and provide variance analysis.
- Support management in financial planning and cost management initiatives.
Team Leadership and Supervision
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff to ensure efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Assign tasks and monitor performance within the accounting department.
- Provide guidance and training to accounting personnel.
Coordination with Other Departments
- Work closely with HR, operations, and other departments regarding payroll, financial reporting, and expense monitoring.
- Provide financial information needed by management for operational decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is an advantage.
- At least 5–7 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and government compliance requirements.
- Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and audit coordination.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
