General Motors is seeking interns in the Philippines to support Finance and Accounting projects during a mid-shift hybrid program. You will engage in process improvements, journal entries, reconciliations and budgeting tasks while collaborating with leadership teams.

Ideal candidates are Finance and Accounting students in their 3rd year or senior year, enthusiastic about automation tools like KNIME or Databricks, and ready to extend hours if needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduating student or in 3rd year of Finance and Accounting, internship as official undergraduate requirement.
• Willing to extend internship hours and work hybrid set-up.
• Basic accounting skills.
• Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); Google Workspace.
• KNIME, Databricks or any similar automation tools preferably trained.
• LEAN, Six-sigma trained.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills (i.e. with high confidence to present to top management).

Responsabilités

• Initiate and complete projects to streamline accounting operations via process simplification, standardization and/or automation.
• Perform (low risk) operational activities like manual journal entries, account reconciliation or budgeting and forecasting.
• Participate in meetings to identify opportunities to streamline/simplify work.
• This may be one of below, but not limited to APM Policy review, MJE automation/reduction focused on high effort entries, and global QA tasks standardization.
• Present the results of the project to GBS Leadership.
• Lead/participate in GBS-wide engagement activities.

Work Arrangement

This role is categorized as hybrid on mid shift (1pm to 10pm). This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Philippines office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.

What You'll Do

Internship Group Placement

Interns may be assigned to one of the following groups, based on business needs and placement availability:

• Fixed Assets and Product Costing and Inventory Pricing
• General Accounting and Statutory
• COE Tax Compliance
• Intercompany Treasury

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• Candidates must be graduating/3rd year college students of Finance and Accounting courses, with internship as official undergraduate requirement.
• Must be willing to extend internship hours if needed and work on a hybrid set-up.
• Basic accounting skills.
• Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.); Google Workspace.
• KNIME, Databricks or any similar automation tools preferably trained.
• LEAN, Six-sigma trained.
