Productivity Specialists Team Labor Service Cooperative (Prospect Coop) is seeking a Field Technician to support agronomists in Northern and Luzon areas. The on-site role in Tarlac involves coordinating field crews, certifying seed field isolation, and monitoring crop emergence.

The candidate should be a graduate in Agriculture or related field with driving skills for motorcycle and four-wheel vehicles, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Agriculture, Agribusiness or related courses.
• Must have driving skills for motorcycle and 4-wheels.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willing to travel long term.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to Agronomists in daily activities.
• Schedules daily activities of field crews and prepares time records.
• Assists Field Agronomists in certifying seed field isolation before/after planting.
• Monitors planting with at least 95% emergence.
• Ensures irrigation schedules are implemented before planting and during fertilization stages.
• Oversees application of pesticides and fertilizers as scheduled.
• Leads crew in rouging, cleanup and hand pollination as needed.
• Organizes, trains, deploys and evaluates detasselers.
• Assigns harvesters and dispatches haulers.
• Collects agronomic and quality data.
• Assists Agronomists in ISO records.

Responsibilities include:

• Provides assistance to Agronomists in the following activities:
• Schedules daily activities of field crews and prepare daily time records
• Assists Field Agronomists in certifying seed field isolation before and after planting
• Monitors planting, ensuring at least 95% emergence
• Ensures that irrigations schedules are implemented before planting, fertilizer application and during pre and post pollination stages of the crop.
• Ensure timely and effective application of pesticides and fertilizers
• Lead crew in performing rouging, clean-up and hand pollination as necessary
• Organize, train and deploy and evaluate performance of detasselers
• Assign harvesters and dispatch haulers
• Collects agronomic and quality related data
• Assist Agronomists in accomplishing ISO records

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of Agriculture, Agribusiness or related courses
• With driving skills in both motorcycle and 4-wheels
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills
• Ability to adapt, be flexible, has attention to details and energy for long term travels
