The Field Technician plays a key role in supporting field maintenance operations by ensuring machines are properly serviced, maintained, and operating efficiently. The position involves troubleshooting technical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, maintaining accurate service records, and ensuring compliance with company and safety standards. The role also supports operational efficiency through effective coordination, timely issue escalation, and continuous technical improvement.
Diagnose machine issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Replace faulty components using approved tools and replacement parts.
Perform machine calibration after repairs to restore optimal performance.
Coordinate recurring technical concerns with supervisors.
Provide feedback regarding recurring equipment failures to support process improvements.
Conduct scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance activities.
Clean, lubricate, and calibrate machines to maintain performance and reliability.
Identify worn components and recommend replacements before failure occurs.
Verify machine functionality through testing after maintenance.
Complete and submit all required preventive maintenance documentation.
Follow established SOPs and maintenance procedures during servicing.
Adhere to all safety requirements, including proper PPE usage and lockout/tagout procedures.
Conduct post-service safety inspections to ensure compliance.
Participate in required safety training sessions and drills.
Immediately report hazards, unsafe conditions, or near-miss incidents.
Accurately record service activities, findings, corrective actions, and parts utilized.
Maintain updated records within the company’s maintenance system.
Submit service reports within the prescribed turnaround time.
Attach required photos, logs, and supporting documentation for traceability.
Provide accurate updates to support monitoring and reporting requirements.
Identify complex technical issues and elevate them with complete documentation.
Assist supervisors and senior technicians during advanced troubleshooting activities.
Share diagnostic results to facilitate faster issue resolution.
Coordinate with technical support teams regarding high-level concerns.
Document and communicate lessons learned from escalated cases.
Ensure service tools and kits are complete and ready before field assignments.
Conduct routine inspections and calibration of specialized tools.
Report damaged or missing equipment and coordinate replacements.
Follow proper handling and storage procedures for tools and instruments.
Maintain inventory records of assigned equipment and consumables.
Participate in company-sponsored technical training and workshops.
Stay informed about new technologies, equipment models, and servicing techniques.
Share technical knowledge with team members to encourage skill development.
Complete required certifications and assessments within established timelines.
Apply feedback from performance evaluations to enhance effectiveness.
