USCADD Systems Philippines, Inc. seeks a Design Engineer to prepare and coordinate drawings and calculations for fire alarm, life safety, and low-voltage systems in Manila.
You will interpret project specs, codes, and customer requirements to deliver accurate design packages. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, strong electrical drafting skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
The Design Engineer is responsible for the preparation, design, coordination, and development of engineering drawings and calculations for fire alarm, life safety, and low-voltage systems. The role requires the ability to interpret project specifications, applicable codes, and customer requirements to produce accurate and compliant design packages.
Prepare detailed design drawings using AutoCAD and related software.
Design Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (FDAS) in accordance with applicable codes and standards, including NFPA 72 and local authority requirements.
Prepare system layouts, riser diagrams, wiring diagrams, and device placement drawings.
Perform battery calculations, voltage drop calculations, and equipment sizing.
Review project specifications, architectural drawings, and engineering documents.
Coordinate with project managers, estimators, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure design accuracy.
Develop shop drawings, construction drawings, and as-built drawings.
Prepare material takeoffs and bill of materials (BOM).
Respond to plan review comments and revise drawings as required.
Maintain organized project files and documentation.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of design experience in fire alarm, life safety, or low-voltage systems.
Proficient in AutoCAD.
Strong understanding of electrical schematics and construction drawings.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with NFPA 72, IBC, IFC, NEC, and related industry standards is preferred.
