Farm Manager – Chicken & Egg Production

Key Responsibilities:

Farm Setup & Development

• Lead the establishment of chicken and egg farm operations from ground zero, including site preparation, farm layout, housing systems, and workflow design.
• Coordinate construction and setup of poultry houses (layer/broiler), cages, feeding systems, water lines, ventilation, waste management, and biosecurity facilities.
• Recommend and source equipment, feeds, chicks/pullets, vaccines, and farm supplies in coordination with management.
• Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)for poultry production, egg handling, sanitation, and farm safety.

Poultry Production & Operations

• Develop and implement production programs (flock placement, feeding, lighting, vaccination, and culling schedules).
• Manage daily operations including feeding, egg collection, flock health monitoring, and facility maintenance.
• Monitor and optimize egg production, feed conversion ratio (FCR), mortality rate, and flock performance.
• Ensure strict biosecurity, disease prevention, and animal welfare practices from startup onward.

People & Resource Management

• Recruit, train, and supervise farm workers; define roles, shift schedules, and performance standards.
• Manage farm budgets, startup costs, operating expenses, and inventory control.
• Plan manpower requirements aligned with production scale‑up.

Compliance & Reporting

• Secure and ensure compliance with DA, BAI, LGU, environmental, and labor regulations.
• Maintain complete startup documentation, production records, inventory logs, and financial reports.
• Prepare and submit regular progress, production, and performance reports to management.

Scale‑Up & Continuous Improvement

• Plan and execute production scale‑up based on market demand and management direction.
• Identify operational risks and implement continuous improvement and cost‑efficiency measures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Veterinary‑related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of hands‑on experiencein chicken and egg (layer and/or broiler) farm operations, including farm setup or expansion experience.
• Strong knowledge of poultry housing systems, equipment installation, nutrition, disease control, and biosecurity.
• Proven ability to build farm operations from scratchand manage both technical and operational aspects.
• Strong leadership, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
• Willing to work onsiteand adapt to startup and agricultural working conditions.
