Job summary

Hrtx in the Philippines is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure software quality by creating and executing test plans, reporting defects, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues. This role follows a hybrid schedule (1-2x a month RTO) with night shifts at the BGC office.

You will design and execute test plans, perform ETL testing using SQL and data warehousing concepts, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• ETL testing, SQL, and data warehousing experience.
• Python is a plus.

About the Job

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer who will ensure the quality of software products by creating and executing test plans, identifying and reporting defects, and collaborating closely with development teams to resolve issues. This role will also involve monitoring adherence to quality standards, maintaining testing processes, and providing guidance to junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure quality of software products by creating and executing test plans.
• Identify, document, and track defects, working with developers to resolve issues.
• Monitor adherence to quality standards in the development, implementation, and maintenance of software products.
• Assess effectiveness of quality assurance processes and tools, suggesting improvements when needed.
• Participate in sprint planning meetings to discuss new requirements and define testing tasks.
• Provide guidance and technical instruction to junior engineers on testing practices and methodologies.
• Design, develop, and maintain test infrastructure and related platforms in line with evolving client requirements.
• Execute functional and regression tests to verify requirements, ensure compliance, and validate defect fixes.
• Review functional, design, and data specifications to derive use cases and test plans.
• Write test scripts, use cases, queries, and documentation to meet quality assurance objectives.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and create user documentation to guide end users.

Requirements and Skills:

• Proven expertise or hands-on experience with ETL testing, SQL, and data warehousing.
• Experience in Python is a plus.
