ADEC Innovations in the Philippines seeks a Development Lead to steer the design, development, and maintenance of ETL/ELT data pipelines and processing tools. You will guide a team of ETL developers, coordinate with Data Operations and Analysts, and ensure solutions meet security, scalability, and compliance standards.
You will oversee end-to-end delivery, assess risks, and drive continuous improvement through code reviews and mentoring.
Under the supervision of theManager, the Development Lead is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ETL/ELT solutions, data pipelines, and related data-processing tools.
The position manages and provides technical direction to ETL Developers and works closely with Data Operations, Data Analysts, Database Administrators, Software Delivery, GIS Developers and other stakeholders to ensure data-processing solutions are accurate, secure, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with operational, business, and technical requirements.
Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of ETL solutions, data pipelines, transformation processes, and related data-processing tools. Creates wireframe, storyboard, prototype, or mock-up if and when necessary.
Review and approve data mappings, transformation rules, technical designs, and implementation approaches.
Perform hands-on development, troubleshooting, and optimization for complex, critical, or high-priority ETL requirements when necessary.
Manage the ETL Development team, including work assignment, delivery monitoring, coaching, performance management, and capability development.
Provide technical direction and ensure adherence to established development, documentation, security, data management, and compliance standards.
Promote code reviews, technical walkthroughs, knowledge sharing, cross-training, mentoring, and continuous improvement within the team.
Collaborate with Data Operations, Data Analysts, Software Delivery, and other stakeholders to analyze data-processing requirements and translate them into appropriate technical solutions.
Assess scope, dependencies, risks, effort, and resource requirements to support the planning and prioritization of ETL development activities.
Ensure ETL solutions are properly reviewed, tested, demonstrated, approved, documented, deployed, and transitioned to users and operational support teams, including appropriate training or knowledge transfer.
Ensure ETL solutions and deliverables meet established quality, security, reliability, documentation, and software development standards.
Ensure processing issues and defects are investigated through root-cause analysis, appropriately resolved, and used to identify opportunities for continual improvement.
Ensure the team complies with applicable software development policies and procedures, and client-specific controls, including the use of prescribed workflow and document management systems.
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or another related field
At least five years of relevant experience in ETL development, data engineering, software development, or related technical roles
At least two years of experience in a technical lead, team lead, supervisory, or equivalent role
Experience supporting production data pipelines, data-processing operations, and cross-functional technology initiatives
Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts, data integration, data transformation, data mapping, and pipeline design
Experience developing and supporting batch, scheduled, event-driven, and other data-processing solutions
Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL development, stored procedures, query optimization, and database design principles
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or comparable database platforms
Working knowledge of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP, APIs, and structured or semi-structured data formats
Knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language used for data processing, such as Python, .NET, Java, or shell scripting
Understanding of data quality, data lineage, metadata, reconciliation, retention, security, and data governance principles
Understanding of hosting environments, source control, automated testing, CI/CD, and controlled deployment and rollback practices
Understanding of cloud services, job scheduling, monitoring, logging, and production support practices for data-processing solutions
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to investigate data discrepancies, processing failures, and performance issues
Ability to translate operational and analytical requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions
Strong attention to detail, particularly in data validation, reconciliation, and control implementation
