Job summary

Shore360 is seeking an Estimator to secure profitable commercial plumbing and civil construction work in Australia and the Philippines. You will prepare detailed cost estimates, conduct digital take-offs, and analyze tender documentation while ensuring compliance with standards and risk frameworks.

You will support project teams from tender inception through handover, coordinating with builders and suppliers to maintain pricing accuracy and competitive margins.

Qualifications

• Plumbing trade qualification is highly regarded.
• 2+ years estimating experience in commercial plumbing or construction.
• Experience delivering estimates for medium to large commercial projects.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Proven stakeholder coordination with builders, suppliers, subcontractors.
• Proficiency with digital take-off software and builder document systems.
• Competent using Bluebeam, Excel and estimating platforms with on-screen take-offs.
• Ability to read mechanical, plumbing, civil and architectural drawings.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of labour/material cost structures.
• Experience maintaining supplier pricing databases and market rate currency.

• Provide pricing support for procurement and PM teams, including cost breakdowns.
• Track industry pricing shifts, cost escalations and competitor pricing trends.

About the role

The Estimator plays a vital role in securing profitable commercial plumbing and civil construction work through accurate, competitive and market-aligned estimating. The position is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, conducting digital take-offs, analyzing tender documentation, obtaining supplier and subcontractor pricing, and supporting project teams from tender inception through to project handover. This role contributes directly to tender competitiveness, win-rate, margin protection, pricing accuracy and commercial growth, ensuring all tenders comply with Australian Standards, NCC, BCA, industry practices, and risk management frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor estimating inbox and tender invitations
• Filter and assess tenders using the Four-R Rating Method (Relationship, Risk, Reward, Real) for go/no-go decisions
• Review tender documents, drawings, schedules and specifications
• Conduct accurate digital take-offs and quantity measurements
• Prepare complete estimates inclusive of labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor components
• Obtain, validate and compare supplier/subcontractor pricing
• Maintain the tender register and follow up tender outcomes with builders
• Prepare budget documentation for awarded projects and attend project launch meetings
• Provide pricing support for procurement and PM teams, including cost breakdowns in agreed formats
• Track industry pricing shifts, cost escalations and competitor pricing trends

About you

• Plumbing Trade Qualification (highly regarded)
• Minimum 2+ years estimating experience in commercial plumbing or construction environments
• Experience delivering estimates for medium to large commercial projects
• Demonstrated ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documentation
• Proven stakeholder coordination with builders, suppliers, subcontractors
• Proficiency with digital take-off software and builder document systems (Aconex, EstimateOne, BidContender)
• Competent using Bluebeam, Excel and estimating platforms incorporating on-screen take-offs
• Ability to read mechanical, plumbing, civil and architectural drawings
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of labour/material cost structures
• Experience maintaining supplier pricing databases and market rate currency
