Job summary

Deployed Philippines Inc is hiring a mid‑level estimator to organize tender pricing, price takeoffs, and vendor quotations for live and tendered projects. You will manage documents in OneDrive, coordinate with the team on costing of items, and support post‑award handover with accurate budgets and VE options.

The role requires solid reading of plans and specs, and experience with Benchmark/Bluebeam is a plus. Flexible work arrangement, with a hub in Ortigas, and HR support are provided.

Qualifications

• Mid-level with 3–4 years estimating experience.
• Strong ability to read and interpret plans and specs.
• Experience using Benchmark software is a plus.
• Local Australian experience preferred; international candidates considered.
• Bluebeam or Benchmark experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Organize Excel spreadsheet of live projects and tendered projects.
• Send weekly updates via email/phone on tender progress.
• Attend weekly meetings to report progress and capture new tenders.
• Download and organize project documents (BOQ, specs) in Onedrive folders.
• Prepare quotations using library rates and pricing the tender items.
• Create and update take-offs with Revu Bluebeam as required.
• Compile supplier/subcontractor quotations (2–3 quotes min) for each work element.
• Prepare handover documentation post-award, including deviations and VE options.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Organize excel spreadsheet of Builders’ live projects and projects currently being tendered by Builders
• Weekly emails/phone calls to update spreadsheet on progress of live projects/tenders
• Participate in weekly meetings to provide updates on the above while also capturing new tenders/live projects that has came out to market through EstimateOne, Tenderlink, RFQ through emails, Procore and Aconex
• For Projects currently being tendered by Builders
• Downloading documents including BOQ, and organising them into folders within our ‘Tender’ folders in OneDrive
• Updating the above Excel Spreadsheet to include tender projects.
• Discuss with the team about whether to undertake the project. If undertaking the project, we will proceed with the below, if not, we will formally advise that we are not tendering
• Where we are tendering; assist in compiling quotation based on rates in library – rates in library are generic and to be used for tender purposes only. The process involves:
• Uploading BOQ issued by builder into Benchmark Estimating Software
• Update BOQ in Benchmark Estimating Software to reflect general items in library
• Where there are specific requirements or item cannot be used from the library, liaise with personnel in preparing a ‘budget’ for the purpose of submitting a price for that specific item
• For Live Projects where the Builder is undertaking the project
• Downloading documents including BOQ, and organising them into folders within our ‘Builders’ folders in OneDrive – otherwise if the project already existing in tender, drag the project from ‘Tenders’ to ‘Builders’
• Where there are new documents following the pricing of the project at tender, download and organise them into the project folder
• Updating the above Excel Spreadsheet to either change the project from Tender to Live, or add new row for the Live Project if we have not priced for it during tender
• Discuss with the team about whether to undertake the project, proceed with below, or advise Client we are not pricing
• Complete accurate Take-offs with Revu Bluebeam
• If required by the team, assist in preparing the quote items within Benchmark – this might either be importing a BOQ into Benchmark or adding items into the quotation through the library for adjustment by the team later on
• Compile quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for each element of works. It is critical that the suppliers/subcontractors receives the correct specification, drawings, methodologies and quantities for accurate pricing. We require 2-3 quotations as a minimum
• All quotations from suppliers and subcontractors are to be filed and organised into the project folder
• Assist in marking up Scope of Works to reflect what was priced – this is key to ensuring that the Builders understands what we have priced
• Update the above spreadsheet with progress on any of the above

Project Management

Following the award of the project – prepare handover documentations for project team including:

• Where we have deviated from specification or provided Value Engineering options to win the project, that this is captured within the handover documentations
• Ensure take-offs conducted are based on the contract documentations
• Ensure that contract documentations (where pricing was based on a certain revision od drawings) are captured within the contract
• Ensure that Scope of Works and schedule of rates negotiated during tender are reflected on the Contract
• Assist project team in preparing budgets based on pricing stages and providing contingencies in suppliers/subcontractors (hence why we require 2-3 quotations as a minimum from suppliers/subcontractors)
• During the progress of the project, the estimator may be depended on to provide advice on what was priced and will be sporadically involved in providing advice on methodologies to the project

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Mid-level, with approximately 3–4 years of estimating experience preferred.
  
• Candidates should have solid construction estimating experience and be confident in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  
• Experience with the Benchmark system is a plus.
• Local Australian experience is preferred due to familiarity with Australian building standards and construction practices. However, international candidates may also be considered, provided they have strong plan-reading and specification interpretation skills.
• Bluebeam or Benchmark is preferred but not required. Experience with similar estimating and takeoff software is considered transferable.
